The European Solidarity Corps is the European Union initiative which funds opportunities for young people to volunteer or work in projects in their own country or abroad that benefit communities and people around Europe.
In the UK, the initiative is implemented by the Erasmus+ National Agency, a partnership between the British Council and Ecorys UK. The Solidarity Corps was open to applications from UK organisations from 2018-2020. For more information visit the ‘Key changes to Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps in 2021' page.
The National Agency reports to the Department for Education, which oversees Erasmus+ in the UK as the National Authority, and to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport, responsible for youth policy in the UK. Some activities are managed directly by the European Commission.
